How to build a gallery with prebuilt images using WC Image Customizer

Customers can now create their own image, use their own image (upload) or select any image from an image gallery without overload the website disk space by using Google Drive. Follow theses steps to configure the shortcode and required plugin:

1. Install and configure Integrate Google Drive

Artist Image Generator uses this plugin to create 1 gallery inside your Google Drive account and then use it inside each generator. It is easier to maintain and you can push any image, any folder structure in this gallery. The idea is :

  • To use a popular cloud to stock your images as you want without difficulty
  • This way it can manage hundred images without performance issue
  • You can manage images by categories, by creating subfolder inside your Google Drive gallery space
  • You can fine tune how its works
  • Customer can walk through your gallery, search a particular image inside a category and select it to use it inside the product

To install, just let you guided by the plugin’s doc :

  • Install the plugin and connect it to your Google Drive account
  • You can have a one click connection, or a manual one if you needs to have your own app
  • Note that it uses the free version, but you can upgrade it to have more customization

2. Configure a shortcode

In the Integrate Google Drive shortcode Builder section, configure this way and let the other fields by default :

3. When the Integrate Google Drive’s shortcode is ready, tell AIG to use it.

In each product shortcode you want a prebuilt gallery, just specify :

Note: 1 is the shortcode id of Integrate Google Drive’s shortcode

4. Then, save the product and build your gallery inside Google Docs.

It will render like this. Then customer will be able to open it, search an image by its name inside the current opened images and select it to use it as a prebuilt one.

5. Recommandations :

  • Build your categories inside subfolders
  • Name your image correctly – by describing the image : 9834K.png > a-cat.png
